Turkey – 1 yr equity index return of 50%+

with 2 comments

I was going through Turkey and the quality of the companies has left me impressed, more than impressed.

The concern here is more about macro, debt to gdp and balance of payments which is putting pressure on Turkish Lira.

The index itself has delivered 50% return in the previous 12 months, so one can imagine the individual equity returns. Despite the 50% index run, its not hard to find companies in low teen or 10ish PE multiples with above 20% ROE.

    • I am not based in India for the pas 20 years. If you are based in India, you can invest overseas by opening account directly with the broker in that country. Go to the stock exchange website, find brokers, email them. Then account can get opened. Indian citizens can invest overseas, there is admin overhead as not all countries provide online broking, so email based order placement etc.
